Let it be known that I'm officially starting a knitting blog! Family and friends (who don't knit) will think this is craziness, but I'm okay with that. Alrighty, so a little intro is needed:
I was introduced to the concept of knitting in a "middleman" sorta way. I had a friend who wanted to learn how to knit and I had a friend who knew how, so I set up the first meeting at my apartment in November of 2003. Now the friend who knew how to knit really just knew how to knit, purl, cast on, bind off and I think knit in the round. Her skills were very basic but definitely good enough to show us the way. At that time I really didn't get what the big deal was. I stumbled around with it for a bit, made a scarf and a hat but wasn't really drawn to it. Didn't keep it up. I think because I just didn't get it.
What I do when I don't get things is I take a a class. So in January 2005 I took an intro class at Urban Knitting Studio in San Francisco and a whole new world opened up to me. After that I took a seamless sweater class and a sock class. I started keeping a life blog once The Hub and I decided to leave SF and I began adding things about knitting. Knitters in Toronto are big with their knitting blogs, so I'm jumping on the bandwagaon hoping to fit in.
I've been blogging at livejournal for a bit now and I've found that to be a cool knitter you gotta have a blog here. Here are past knitting posts that I'd like to share. Enjoy!
