Knitters Tea Swap & Magic Loop

Two great things, that aren't necessarily going together!

First off, I'm set with my pal for the the 3rd Knitters Tea Swap. Woot! This isn't a secret swap so we get the opportunity to chat and get to know each other BEFORE we send out our package. I think that is a pretty cool concept. I've already introduced myself and have scoured her blog for ideas. I've been a wee bit distracted with the Yarn Harlot's appearance here in TO, the TTC Knit-A-Long, getting the incoming DKC's VP Programme up to speed (or at least making sure all the materials are gathered that she needs), weeding the yard and dealing with the kitchen renovation (that my Sweetie Pie has been doing an awesome job on) that I feel I haven't been in touch as much as I'd like. Plus my series of tubes were down for a whole day late last week and that didn't help anything. However, fear not KTS pal! I'm getting a little questionnaire together and will send it over to you shortly.

If you wanna give a wave to my pal, go visit her at her blog at kaleidoscoptic. She just got back from vacation and has posted some lovely photos. I'm sure she'd love to be distracted just a bit more!

Secondly, I've successfully taught myself Magic Loop and I'm a convert! No more DPNs for me. I still have the other sock to do but the first look me a little more than a week. Much better than my last pair of socks that took several months to complete because of all the hand fatigue. Details on pattern, yarn, etc when I finish the other one. In the meantime, jam to this mix of Ted Steven's talk about the internet:

Wow, you are busy. Thanks for giving my blog a shout out. Maybe I'll prepare a few questions for you too. I haven't shopped yet but we have Memorial Day weekend coming up and I get four whole days off and I'm planning on shopping for a few things for me and a few things for you.
I met the Yarn Harlot at the fall Knit Out we have every year in NYC. What a treat.

I just saw your comment about your favorite tea on the KTS3 site. It sounds so yummy, where can I find it?

Ariel - I'm not sure where you live, but I'm assuming in the States? If you have an Asian market in your town they should carry it there. I discovered it when I lived in San Francisco where I lived in the 2nd Chinatown (Clement St in the Inner Richmond neighborhood). You can also get it online at Amazon (of all places!), kgrocer.com, or adagio.com. If you live in Canada you can get free shipping if you order from treefrog.com If you do end up buying this tea keep in mind that you want to bring the water to boiling but let it calm before you pour over your tea. Then you will only want it to steep for two minutes max. It's very gentle flavor and it shouldn't be bitter. I hope you'll give it a try!

craftypiggie - Thanks for the compliment!

Thanks Jacquie!! I live in Southern California and will order online - although it's a good excuse to go visit SF - LOL. Can't wait to try it and thanks for the steeping hint.
