Lettuce Knit/Amy Singer's Knitty Party!
Wednesday night I ditched my regular s'n'b peeps to check out Lettuce Knit's new digs and congratulate Amy on quitting her job to do knitty.com full time. I meet up with Sophie (who "didn't buy sock yarn") and Sandi (with her ever stylish can cozy). The store looked fantastic and the party was in full swing. The place was so hopping that we realized we didn't have a place to park ourselves. So we went off for some food and brief knitting. After food, Sophie went home to hit the hay. Sandi and I went back for cake and some socializing. The cake was so old school I could barely contain my glee. But I didn't embarass myself, so that was a start.
I couldn't get over how beautiful the weather was, so I stayed even later than I had expected. It was good to chat with folks that I hadn't met before and get caught up with the folks I knew. It was awesome to talk to Amy and hear about her journey to get to be knitty full-time. It was good to see Jen, who returned recently from a fantabulous camping trip with her man where she bought tons of yarn and an alpaca shearing! (Did I hear that right?!) Jesus, was I envious. I got "I heart knitty" pins for myself, Sophie & Sandi (which I will bring to the Dick on the 14th!). Amy even shared her Garlic Green Peas with me and gave me a handful for the trip home. All-in-all an excellent evening.
As you can tell, I brought my camera. But I brought the new camera, so I wasn't exactly sure how to use it. So all pictures were taken in "auto" mode. As soon as i figure out all the bells, dials and whistles I'll take better pics. Until then, these will have to do.
